Weird Brightness Problem.. Very Mysterious

NEW PROBLEM ****
now the new problem is that whenever i coem back from sleep mode, the brightness is like half dimmed and i can't do anything about it. FN keys don't work, Mobility Center doesn't have the brightness option anymore (weird.) and in Power Options/Edit Power Options, whenver i change the brightness with the Slider, it doesn't work..

Now this problem cannot happen! Any suggested fix?

The Following Bold and Underlined Is Solved.

So one random day (today), after resetting my computer from windows updates, it decided to disable windows aero and did not let me turn it on ever again. Very strange.

After resetting the computer again, it decides to work but this time, the small transparent borders from service windows are missing...

here is an example:

and somehow, whenever i used to unplug the AC adapter from the laptop, the windows taskbar suddenly turns white and transparency is disabled.. (<-- this is what i want)

but now, whenver i unplug it, it stays transparent, as if it were plugged in.


i dont know what reset/changed these settings of mine, maybe the aero disabling.
i need to revert to old settings without System Restore because of a major change.

Any suggestions?

Try running the WEI score and see if that re-enables it.

This won't solve this problem but maybe others in the future.
Before I download updates or any other programs I always create a restore point, this way if something changes I can change it back relatively easy by restoring it, if I don't like the program or in your case you could DL updates under custom one at a time and see if one of them was the cause for elimination purposes.
Have you tried runing through your power options one at a time to see if your problem may be in their somewhere?

It had to lie in the power options because it's a matter of battery mode / ac mode.

i did get it fixed, but i did it manually, like going Battery only and then turning transparency off, then plugging it back in and turning transparency back on :\
