Hello, I having weird green ribbon of death problem, every time i open some "heavy folder" and green progress bar is running my pc freeze, I'm unable to move mouse, keyboard work work etc, and i have to reboot my pc.

it started since i took this windows 7 "pc rating system" test.

Now, when i use classic windows mode theme, it works fine (the loading bar is gray) and I'm able to open/load anything i want. when i switch back to normal mode it freeze again.

Something about windows Aero i guess...

some system info:

Windows 7 x64
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GS
3 g"b Ram Memory
AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core 4200+ 2.21 Gh"z

all up to date, been working fine for years..

Any ideas? :(

One thing to consider is when you have Aero enabled, your system is using directx and the GPU directly to draw the info to the screen, but when you're using Windows classic or any other non-Aero theme, Windows is using GDI and the CPU to draw info to the screen. Unless the video drivers are the culprit, the video card itself may be (especially considering it totally hangs the machine). It might be worth running Prime95 and FurMark on that system to stress it to see if you can get the GPU to fail or not.
