Hey,
Ever since a user on this PC corrupted (sorted that out), my welcome screen has been replaced by this type of logon:

I'd rather not have to type out usernames, how do i revert it back to listing all usernames?

Cheers.

Hello Welcome to SF,

Do you see them under Control Panel > User Accounts ??

Lets try this Start > controluserpasswords2 and hit Enter
Under that list see whether you can locate that Unknown user. Also Go under C drive > Users under there any folder other that your Username and Public. Then did you try to install .NET Frameworks by any chance ??

Good Luck,
Captain

That isnt my PC btw - thats a shot from google images.
But basically it shows the last logged in user or other user as the only option. Clicking 'other user' allows me to login but its an inconvenience. I want default behavior.

Under users the only other ones listed apart from our accounts are Guest and HomeGroupUser$

I used Ultimate Ultimate Windows Tweaker to accomplish what you're looking for. When windows is at the login screen, I don't see the icons, just a field for username and password.

Under the "User Accounts & UAC" section, tick the "Require user to press ctrl+alt+del at logon" box.

I must not have explained myself properly, your solutions provide me with the opposite of what i want.

I want default windows 7 behavior. Listing all users with their icons. I click a user, and it logs in/asks for password if applicable.
Currently i can either click the last user logged in, OR i can click other user to type in another name.
I do not want to have to type the username in. Currently this is what i have to do. I want it back to the default, where all users are listed.

Does that make more sense?

To Restore Default Password Only Log On Screen -
A) Type 0 (number zero) and click on OK. (See screenshot above)

7. Close regedit.

8. Log Off and log on to see the change.

It also gives instructions on how to restore it.

Welcome

Everyone seems to be guessing and just hoping that they give you the correct advice. I think that this might be the problem.

It would work the same way in Win 7

Hi,
This simply removes the username and then adds it back (when you revert). i still dont have the default listing of all users.

update?

Any update to this thread?

I just got a Windows 7 pc. For a week or two I had all my user accounts showing up on the welcome screen. (This is a personal pc, with user accounts for the 3 kids, mom, and dad) Now, I have the same issue. The last user to log on and "other user." I don't know how or why this changed. I'd like to revert back to the display of all users on the welcome screen.

Help
