Welcome Screen Question

Hi Good Peoples,

First post here although I have gained much info in the past few months from reading.

When I start my laptop (Dell 1555 running 64 bit WinDoze 7) after it goes through the boot screen and moves to the Welcome Screen, the Welcome Screen flashes up and stays there for a second or two, then it vanishes and goes to a black screen for a small time, and then the Welcome Screen comes back up and does its full thing.

So how do I stop the 'stutter?"

Thanks for the suggestion. I have optimised as soon as I installed 7 but there were a few more little tricks that I added as I reread the suggestions.

Unfortunately none of the suggestions in the link addresses the problem of the Welcome Screen popping up, disappearing, and the returning to finish the job.
