I just wanted to say hi, and that I'm very glad this place exists. Since I first found the site last night, I have been browsing and trying things recommended by other users, and everything worked flawlessly. I'm attending school to for several computer related courses, and I can already tell that I will be able to do very well between the books, teachers, and this site. just came back to windows

I just bought a new compaq presario cq56 notebook to replace my apple g4 powerbook as the laptop. my g4 is still being used daily, just as a desktop now since a replacement battery for it was the same price as the new compaq. so far im happy with windows 7 which i never thought i would use windows again after win 98,98 second edition,win 2000, win xp and the worst was vista. so far i havent seen any of the common windows crap such as random shut downs and such. of course i have only had it since thursday the 13 of january so its still quite new. the laptop specs are amd v140 2.3g processor, 2gb ram 250 gb hard drive. the sale price was $299.99 plus tax with a included 3 year best buy warranty. seems like microsoft got it together with windows 7 home premium so far !!

Thanks everybody! Computerboy, you got a better deal than I did, and I went to Walmart for mine. I didn't get a warranty at all. You'll enjoy Windows 7, it is the best for personal entertainment tasks. Good luck and have fun playing with windows 7!
