Hi everyone :-)
I'm from portugal and I'm running a Toshiba Tecra R840-16J laptop with Win7 Professional 64 bit, 8 Gb and a 500 Gb HDD. I do not know much about computers...(at least compared with the gurus I see here).
My main interest is astronomy (astrophotography and astrometry) and I use the laptop to control all my astro gear (mount, cameras, focusers, etc) and for processing all the data I get in each session!
I've been here as a unregistered user for tips (BSOD in an old XP laptop I still have, the unrefresh issue in Win7, etc).

Since I'm planning to buy a SSD for my 2 months Tecra (I established all the specs for my new laptop in January and I got one with all except...the SSD!) I hope to get help here :D in how to install a new one! Maybe you could tell me what the best discussion subforum to get help!

New to Seven Forum

Hello I'm happy to be here, I'v switched to here from MSFN where I felt some people where alittle hostile on thier view points. Anyway I run a Lenovo thinkpad r61 15.4' laptop with 1,256mb ram and intel x3100 graphics which says it can support up to 384mb of video graphics. I have a question that i'm trying to get help on, my card only says 256mb. So I'm wondering if that due to having 1gb of ram in one slot and 256mb in the other slot. Is it just using ram from the 256mb slot ? So would taking the 256 out and falling back to 1gb ram improve the graphics ? I havent found any information on that issue and only know that having 2gb of ram can get the card to reach its prime. I just thought I'd ask, I've updated my card to the new driver and cant find any newer one that what I have already. Anyway thanks and greetings to all.
