Decided to join to answer/help another member in similar situation as myself. I'm just your average PC enthusiast , been meddling with PCs since early days of youth (which is now a long time ago! LOL).

To me this forum is great source of info when I've consulted it in the past and now, so thank you to all that participate :grouphug:.

Right, didn't even see that there was this kind of a welcome to the forums thread. Hm well name is Tobias W., I'm from Finland, I like to fiddle around with computers and help people with problems. I also play games on my free time and I listen to music like all the time so if I get the opportunity to listen to something I take it.

In real life I'm a social question mark, I don't know what to say to people, I think I have bad self confidence, maybe that is why I'm single and I still live with my parents, I do not really know but hopefully I haven't painted up a too grim picture of myself.

Found it... posted 20 hours ago - not a very long time especially on a holiday weekend. Our users are from all around the world so you should expect to wait a few days for answers (but some members respond in a few hours).

I enjoy experimenting when a new Windows OS is introduced. I try and learn new things on editing and streamlining within the OS. I have read the Windows 7 Forum quite a bit lately. I will try and post my issue in the next couple of days so that someone out there may have a remedy. ​

Hi guys and gals... I'm Val. <------- I'll probably be using these a lot so if it gets annoying just say so, nicely, if possible. :huh:
So, I'm in my 40's from southern Cali. My father hobbied in basic machine language programing while I was growing up. He used to give me little programs to type in that would make the keys bark like dogs or other such silly 80's fun. He did write a program and sold it through Analog Computing Magazine on the good ole Floppy disks. 5.5, I think. He was also published in an issue. He got me into computers but honestly, I'm not all that savvy, just need more practice, I guess. I am bright and pick up on things pretty quickly.

I have been struggling for months with various issues with my system, trying to sort out the madness and picking through TechNet and MS/HP Forums to solve a few things... :shock: but I need more help than what I can do alone, so, I have been watching this place for a bit... just seeing what the mood is here.


Seem to have a great bunch of people. I hope to be reaching out with particulars soon. Some of it might take me a bit to type out and I'm hopeful that our communications will be inner-interpreted. Language barriers can be a challenge, but if you can be patient with me I can show results and I would certainly appreciate the assistance. :sarc:With Windows 10 shoving itself down my throat, I would really like to enjoy my Win 7 while it's still here. :huh:

Oh, and I'm a big damn geek, movies, toons, television, collectables, etc. So don't mind the Star Wars puns or quotes from various silly films if they should happen to * pop * out... it's just me being me.

Hope all of you had a great holiday and I look forward to getting to know all that I can in those beautiful brains of yours... mmm... brains!
