Saw this thread and thought I'd say hi. Been using Windows 7 since the first day the public beta was available. I didn't stop using the beta until the RC came out and didn't stop using that until I discovered the RTM in my school's MSDNAA account and that's what I'm running now. Professional x64. I don't think I've ever said this, but I think I'm in love with Windows 7, which is weird.
But, seriously, I think Microsoft hit a home run with this one. I was running Vista before, and still have it on another hard drive, but through the beta and RC, I had no major issues. The only problem I've seen is that Acrobat Reader sometimes acts up. Strangely, it's only on my laptop and I never had the problem on my desktop. I really should look into it (when it happens, it usually works after a refresh).
I'm a CS student and currently learning C++ through my school. I've started using Visual Studio 2008. Anyway, I'm loving Windows 7 and I'm hoping to get pretty proficient with the system. One thing I really like is the new resource monitor. That is very nice, in my opinion.
As a quick tech background, I've been using computers since I was a kid in the early 80s. I've used all the Windows systems except Win2k (which I just got my hands on and will be playing with) and ME. I've also played with other systems, including Linux and BSD.
