SOLVED WGA: Validation Failed?

Has anybody else gotten this? I activated it and it worked. I tried to "resolve" it but it says that only XP and Vista are supported. So...does that mean no updates for us/me?

Can you tell us what you were doing when this message appeared, have you applied any patches to remove the watermark or send feedback options?

I did run the watermark removal, and the feedback removal. Is it possible this is the issue?

Now this didn't happen until after I went and activated it online. It has always said "This copy of Windows is not genuine" at the bottom right, but I dismissed it as a beta thing.

Is this the official download from Microsoft or from a Torrent, if I were you I would do a clean install with the official Download and I would not mess with any hacks to remove features like send feedback or watermarks.

I have played with some of those hacks and have always found something breaks, could be failed Windows Update or loss of functions like compatibility mode not working and many other unforeseen problems.

The best thing to do is use Windows 7 as it was intended, Beta testing and sending feedback, so this OS comes out a winner.

Well I've been sending feedback and error reports, but I got it from a torrent (since MS website was down much of the day/weekend). Now that's its back, I'll probably do a clean install.

The sending feed back hack (I don't really consider this a hack you change one number in the registery, changing the registry is not hacking sorry) is fine I haven't seen it as an issue. The watermark removing now that's an issue. Basically what you've done is remove a official MS file and replaced it with one modified by Joe hacker. The reports are don't remove the watermark unless you want to corrupt windows 7. I have gotten used to the watermark and so should you its not that big of deal. Small price to pay for using the software.

The watermark Hack has probably broken your 7.....

it is known that the watermark hack renders you installation "not genuine".

Do a clean install and leave the watermark alone, it really isn't a big deal.

What are the files that are changed for the hack? Would simply replacing them fix this issue? Not to mention, the one I downloaded may have had a uninstall thing. I'll check it when I get home.

Can you do a system restore back to the time before you hacked it? That would be your best bet.

How do I recheck the Genuine? Is it a website, or just run Windows Update?

Did a System Restore and that appears to have fixed it.
