What are the copies of registry key "currentcontrolset" (CCS) in my re

My computer takes too long to shut down, especially when I shut it down in error, forcing me to wait a long to time to get back to work. So, while applying the suggested fix for my pc a few moments ago, which required me to navigate to the CURRENTCONTROLSET (CCS)/ memory management in my registry, I found seeming duplicate copies: CURRENTCONTROLSET001 & CURRENTCONTROLSET002. So:

If a change is made to CCS, must the same edit be made in CCS001 and CCS002?

Which begs the question, what purpose, perhaps what caused the registry to have a total of three copies (the original and two copies of Currentcontrolset? Do the keys in each serve a different purpose? Is this contributing to my pc's endless shutdown?

I am not sure of all the details but CurrentControlSet is really a pointer to ControlSet001, ControlSet002, or possibly ControlSet003, etc. There is another registry value that specifies which one it is. You would normally make changes in only CurrentControlSet.

Edit: I suppose a problem in the CurrentControlSet could be causing the problem but at present there is no evidence to suggest this. There are other possibilities that are more likely. I have little experience with such a problem.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question(s). To be safe, I changed the setting on each of the CCS "versions." The link you posted, which answered my questions, contained the following information, "... if the Current value is set to 0x1, then CurrentControlSet is pointing to ControlSet001. Similarly, if LastKnownGood is set to 0x2, then the last known good control set is ControlSet002..."

TRY to SET NO PAGINGFILES at control panel, it should speed up ur shutdown.
