Just suggestion mate you could take it to a specialty shop that transfer vinyl to CD - I have done several of my real old ones and they can even edit out some of the crackles and clicks as you call them, cos they don't come any more battered than my favourite vinyl - "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" by Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. Plus the fellow that does mine even prints the original album cover on the CD which is a nice touch.;)
