What can a hacker do with your ip?

Hi!, i was on skype earlier today, and this hacker was able to get my ip using skype resolver, and he threatened to hack me.

1.I would like to know what a hacker can do if they have your public ip address?
Like can they hack your accounts, edit your registry, view your files, etc

2. i am currently using eset smart security, zonealarm firewall, and malwarebytes. I also have Windows firewall enable.
Is that enough to protect me against the hacker?

A script kiddie (only fake hackers, make threats of hacking) can do nothing with your IP. Even if they could, they would run afoul of your ISP as your IP belongs to your ISP not you.

No. Invoking a DOS (Denial of Service) on you would in fact be a DOS on your ISP. That will not go over well for your script kiddie attacker.

Why would anyone tell you they were going to hack you ahead of time?
Thats like calling up the bank and saying
"Hi. I need some cash so Im on way down there right now to rob you." Then show up a bit later.

It makes no sense.


My guess is that the guy is making the threats hoping it will scare you nothing more. Real hackers don't go making threats or telling thier victims what to expect.
They just get things done quietly.

i didnt know he was a hacker at first
he tried to send me something which i knew it was a virus.
because i didnt download it he said he got my ip and his ognna hack me
