try downloading IE9(pre-release) and try some of the demos on the site. pretty interesting. and i have a question can it be used with xhtml like transitional?

So, theoretically you won't need flash for 64bit IE any more. We will be able to dump 32bit browsers then Yippee!!!!

Pretty much. Will be able to do everything Flash can do, but straight from the browser.

Google is planning on setting up a whole digital game distribution as we'll be able to play full games in our web browsers through HTML5.

IE9 interprets HTML5 correctly!

Hate to point it out but, realistically HTML5 doesn't work as well in other browsers as it does for IE9. There are subtle differences seen. But, you have to remember that when it's designed, it's designed with IE9 in mind, not for other browsers. So what you see on other browsers is an interpretation of what that browser thinks it is. Not what it is in reality...

Sorry, I have to disagree with that. HTML5 is not designed for IE 9, it is the next version of HTML for all browsers. IE 9 may be designed with HTML5 in mind, but not visa versa.

Well, this is definitely not what I was expecting... Runckle, 'the internet' and all that it is is never designed with certain browsers in mind, web browsers are designed with features from HTML / XML / XHTML / PHP / JavaScript (or ECMAScript if you will) and so forth in mind, and in order to harness the power of those langauges and protocols.

The only reason Microsoft made IE9 look so awesome in their HTML5 tests, is that the only tests they performed were on HTML5 support that they built in to IE9. I would much rather test all browsers by a single test that was not developed by anyone that has 'one specific browser in mind' and compare those results... It gives a much more accurate result.

On that note, I have found quite a few HTML5 websites lately (made by amazingly talented and skilled individuals) and tested them all in the latest betas of IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers. IE9 is most definitely not the best.
