Solved what did I do?

In my document folder, just recently all my files now show the extensions.
ie rules.doc
ie friends.pdf
etc, etc

What did I do? And how do I get it back to showing the files minus their extensions?

Hello Skostro,

Uncheck the Hide extensions for known file types box in Folder Options should take care of that for you.

You inadvertently chose to show file extensions for known file types.

How to show or hide file name extensions in Windows Explorer

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\folder options under view take the check mark out of hide extensions of known file types. that should do it.
