I'd install the inf first, but I wouldn't use a driver's disk unless some of my hardware didn't work as expected. I'd just use the drivers that Windows supplies and see how well that works. If that works poorly for some device, then consider other drivers from your disk or downloads.

Take a look in Device Manager after you have Windows installed with Windows drivers.

The LAN driver is the most important one and I'd make sure I had it downloaded in case Windows did not supply it.

I have never ever gone into the bios and disabled things like you are talking about, you don`t use the bios like that.

As ignatz says, The only driver you really need to worry about is the network (ethernet) driver, which is on the motherboard cd. That way you can download the other drivers from the manufacturers website if you want to, but they too are right there on the cd.

the lan has to be enabled to install the driver for it. same for audio. they should already be enabled by defualt in bios.

I'd think the default condition for the LAN in the BIOS is enabled. Leave it that way.

New drivers aren't necessarily better than old drivers.

You can of course use whatever drivers you want.

I'd use the drivers supplied by the Windows disc and/or Windows Update. If those proved problematic, I'd consider others.

I don't go out of my way to get the newest drivers for anything. If it ain't broke, ...................

the logic being if i install the drivers first then enable the audio in the bios then windows wownt have chance to first install some old 2006 deiver of its own and same applies to lan or will that approach not work?

Those drivers are meant to get you up and running until you update to the ones you want or need.

There's nothing wrong with them though.

C and D are typically both primary.

System Reserved should be marked "system" if you are using System Reserved at all. If you don't have a System Reserved, then C would be marked "system".

If you are creating a partition to install Windows 7 on, it has to be primary.

You can make D whatever you want, but I see no reason not to make it primary also.
