Solved what do i need to know/do before i make a recovery disk? and 3 user...

just got the last license for windows 7 home premium 32bit on a 3 license disk. at first i thought it was just an upgrade disk, but then it offered me the ability to install windows 7 as a real operating systems. the box is orange. my dad bought the disk from his friend at work, he used the second license, and i used the last. i buy all my software legitimately. is this ok to do? it also gives me the ability to make a recovery disk, if this is ok, then what should i do before i make a recovery disk. if its not ok, the i want nothing to do with this... and am going to go back to vista/ubuntu

You don't need a recovery disk, just make a copy of the install disk. That is perfectly legal as long as no one uses the license key that you used.

Hold onto that disk and the key in case you ever need to reinstall.....which you will!

i just realized, that i don't know how to make a backup copy of my disk. i have one dvd burner so how would i make a copy of my 7 install disk? can you recommend some free software for that purpose?

IMGBurn will make a disk image, and then allow you to burn that image back to a blank disk.

is it safe to make a dvd copy without reformatting, and dl all updates, im not sure how making a dvd copy works but im sure the technical part isn't to hard, but lets just assume, that i have a computer virus/spyware, (for example purposes) now i make a image with imgburn, does that now add any known/unknown viruses that may be on my pc to my burned image? if that did, it would corrupt my pc every time i tried to make a copy. and that what i don't understand.

I don't think such advanced viruses will be totally hidden, you would notice that and anyway I don't think that advanced viruses are common , I think they are very rar, maybe one on a bilion viruses is such an advanced virus?

sorta just covering all my bases though. i really don't know how that works. i think in theory, if your not a windows expert, you could definitely understand why somebody would think this.

You're making a copy of a DVD. Only what is currently on the DVD will be on the copy.
