What do you like about windows 7

There's a lot of things members don't like so thought I would redress the balance with this thread.
I like the "snipping tool" very useful, easy
to use and saves a lot of time for someone like me who uses screenshots a lot!

Wouldn't it be easier to just say...the whole OS? It's the best desktop OS Microsoft has ever released, and once you've been using it for a little while, going back to anything else is painful.

however a few of my favourites:

Start Menu Search+Pin to Taskbar = can't remember the last time i saw my desktop when i hadn't just booted

XP Mode - a lifesaver for those old apps which don't like 64 bit

Intelligent Memory Management - Can't remember the last time the PC was in a "reboot or die" situation

One of the best OSes I've used. I particularly like the libraries, extremely fast when looking for a file, other than the searchbar.

Things like searchbar in the start menu and snipping tool, I find very useful, but I had them in vista too, so yeah .

Start Menu Search. When you rename a file, it only blues out the name, and leaves the extension alone. Themes like a dream. System Restore much more reliable. Created opportunity for this fantastic forum!

What's the performance difference? I haven't noticed any difference over Vista in performance, although it's much faster than XP, so was Vista.

I never had Vista, so some of what seems new and cool to me isn't totally new. That said....
Aero Snap
Aero Peek
Snip Tool
Pin and un-pin to taskbar
Libraries grew on me
Boots way faster than my old XP machine(although that could be hardware related)

I'm sure there's more, but these are the things that immediately come to mind.

Disc at once burning with WMP. (Nice not having to install a 3rd party app. just to burn a continuous CD)

Snipping Tool

And pretty much everything else associated with the OS. Everything just works.(Well...Mostly everything)

I love the new taskbar and having iso burning built in. I also like the image backup feature. I know there are free ones that are better, but I the built in one works just fine for me. I like the snipping tool, the new and improved calculator and ease of connecting to a network. I like the Homegroups feature. It makes connecting all your wireless devices at home a breeze. It is by far the best OS Microsoft has ever released. XP was good, but it is outdated and Windows 7 is the best of XP and Vista combined + some new innovations. Vista introduced a lot of new features and cool stuff on an OS and Windows 7 perfected them(well most of them).

Lol that's a true one, I tend to do that when I'm on a computer that has XP or Vista, but luckily at work they have already upgraded to 7.

I truly hope that Windows 7 is not used for mission critical applications. Let's see now, 100 games of Hearts played, 39 won that's 38% right ?????

Like others have mentioned, now that I've used Win 7 for a awhile, I hate going back to XP. It's like going from XP to 98Se was, yuck!
