What filters are best for securing internet access for children?

I am wondering what filters are best for protecting children on the internet?

Until I get around to sorting out a new desktop, I am using a laptop with win7 as our main access to the internet. This laptop has full version norton 360 installed.
The internet connection is via a netgear router which is set-up to only allow wi-fi access to devices which are listed in the access list. No devices are currently hardwired.
Wi-fi is setup for WPA2-PSK.
Occassionally we access the internet from our htc phone (not sure if this device should have extra security installed?)
My children log in to the laptop via their own logon account. I have used windows to limit their access to certain times.

Is there anything else I might be missing?

Hi Gemini,

I think your setup is fine at the moment, and the HTC doesn't need any additional security.

The big issue are the things that they might stumble upon by accident using internet browsing. I've used the following. Its FREE and its really very, very good indeed:

Thanks Golden I will check it out? Do you know if Norton will conflict with this? Norton offers its own filters of some kind but I couldn't check it out without signing up first.

Its not an anti-malware program as such, so it won't conflict with any anti-malware program.

Check out OpenDNS. It is a free DNS service that also offers parental controls. I use the DNS service but never tried the others.
