Space Marine is cool. There was no hype in the first place, because it was never meant to be a traditional Warhammer game. It's engaging and fun, but not too fun, while on the other hand, not boring either, though a bit linear.

Oh, and Rage? Don't. Just... don't! Wait for another month and then get, like, 50+ more awesome games that are going to be released.

I'm playing Rage atm...22+ hrs in..theres definetly lo res textures ingame though if you have a 2gb + video ram card you have the option now to enable 8k texture whatevers and that makes it look better,but it's still a good looking game for the most part at 4k which is the default texture whatevers setting.


The gameplay is typical ID style aka on tracks shooters but theres a bunch of side quests/races economy of sorts etc in the game which is not trad ID but it isn't detracting from the fun which is the FPS parts.
Weapon sound is good,enemies have not too bad AI,bosses are a tad easy but then I'm just playing normal mode.I will be playing it again in Insane? mode..with pretty much just the pistol the monocular (you buy) and Fatboys and Mamas when I can get them and the sniper rifle lol.
If you running an ATI card you will need to update your drivers to the Rage drivers (vers 2) now I believe. And the game as yet isn't friendly to either SLI or Xfire set ups.If you're running NV cards then you will most likely have a trouble free run.
The engine scales according to the hardware it auto detects (?) on your PC and adjusts accordingly.
The latest patch for the game installs some video overrides now so it would pay you to read up on what the changes may or may not do. I enabled the 8K texture and immediately had "graphics tearing" occur. You need apparently 2Gb or better to run the 8K textures and my card sadly is 1.2Gb..umm back to 4K and no dramas.


If you like ID shooters you will mostly like the game. I personally like all of it lol. I hope theres another one and Carmack has himself said they will develop on PC first next time and then deploy to consoles.
