What happens if I install Win7 on a drive and then reinstall the drive

What happens if I clean install Win7 (OES) on a hard drive and then reinstall a hard drive with the stock Dell upgraded to Win10 from Win 8.1?
My systemell 3847, 16gb ram, Nvidia Graphics card

The computer I want to install Win 7 on is a W 10 updated from 8.1
i like the win 7 on my old laptop and would like to clean install Win 7
on a new hard drive with the Win 10 hard drive removed and then reinstall the
Win 10 hard drive as the C/ Drive for dual booting of the computer.before
putting the new clean Win 7 back in again and after doing full backups of both hard drives
before puting them on the same computer at once. and starting it.
is this a disaster with competing Boot set ups on the hard drives
or workable?

So the system came with 8.1? If so it's setup for UEFI/GPT so installing Win 7 may be a bit of a challenge.

I believe you can have a bootable GPT and MBR drive in UEFI system though I've never done it myself. I gave up on multi-booting a long time ago and use Virtual Machines for OSes I need to run other than my current default OS, which is Win 10 Pro X64.

Hello AND tHANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY,

What I mean to do, And I am not the most tech savvy guy in the world.and
I am not explaining it well.
But, what I want to do will be completly removing the hard drive with any
installed Windows operating system on the computer so that the only thing on the
computer will be a bare, brand new hard drive with no OS on it at all and Have a
new Win 7 that I have bought online to install on the bare never even formated
hard drive. When there is no other OS on the computer it should allow me
to install the Wiin 7 from the CD should it not? Or are the specs for
for the computer so different that I cannot do that when there is no other OS on it?
And then reinstalling the hard drive into the computer that has the Win 10
OS already set up for the same computer. If I can successfully set up both hard
drives for this computer, one with Win 10 on it and one with the newly installed
Win 7 on it, after backing up both setups when they were seperately installed with out
the other hard drive with its OS on the computer. What wiil the two windows operating
systems do when they see each other on the computer at start up ?
Will they accept each other and make a dual boot system or will Win 10
try to make the Win 7 not work at all. that is if I can install the Win 7 on a bare hard drive with
the the Win 10 hard drive off of the computer

Just follow the directions 9in the link I provided. You do need to do things a little differently with a UEFI system.
