Ok, here is a question that might break the ice (Or the motherboard :)) I know that my motherboard can only support up two sticks of ram, ddr2, and the limit is 4 gb. What would happen is I put like lets say......... 8 gb in a mother board that can only support up to four gigs? And if it would work, would ddr3 memory work in a ddr2 ram slot?

First off ddr3 won't go into a ddr2 slot or vice-versa. Secondly adding too much ram than a mobo can support or than the OS can support are two different things. It's best to have matching sticks of memory only and not exceed the recommended max of either the mobo or OS.

It'll simply get ignored, in addition to possibly causing other problems.

And as been stated, DDR3 won't physically fit in a DDR 2 slot.

The PC might not even POST. You would get a long beep from the motherboard.

Also put a ddr3 stick on top of a ddr2 stick, you will see that the key (slot) does not line up, making it impossible for a ddr3 stick to fit in a ddr2 slot on the motherboard.
As mentioned.

I have not bought any ram yet. Usually, The monitor would just go to sleep and never wake up until the monitor is unplugged from the PC.
