What have I changed with explorer taskbar drag thing?

Just installed W7 x64 Enterprise.

I have pro installed on a couple of other machines, and something I quite like is when you drag the explorer icon on the taskbar and it shows a bunch of shortcuts related to explorer.

After I installed explorer this was operating correctly, and I could choose where I wanted explorer to open by using this function, which was really helpful for me.

I've modified my settings a bit since install - stuff like 'open folders in separate process' etc, nothing hacky.

I've just gone to do the drag thing and it's just giving me the basic options (Explorer, unpin, and close).

This happened after my last install on this machine (which was w7 pro).

Is there a system option that I have adjusted that has caused this function to be disabled?

I really liked this function, can anyone help me get it back?

Hello Curt,

That sounds like you are referring to Jump Lists. If so, double check to make sure that you have Recent Programs and Recent Items turned on for it to work.

Aha - thanks. I had disabled these, so I've just reenabled them but nothing's happening yet - I presume I have to build up a new list of recent items/programs so it knows what to show.

You're welcome Curt. Yes, you will need to build up a new list now, but it shouldn't take long as you are opening and using them.
