i use a Nvidia 8400gs, its got dual display support, its fan-less (but i put a silent fan on it to cool it a bit) its only use is sitting and decoding on my HTPC. works flawless. but thats ALL it does. its DVI output is into an hdmi converter cable into my Asus HDAV1.3 deluxe, then hdmi into the 40" lcd @ 1080P in Windows Media Centre. and it was cheap as chips brand new, the store man was probably thinking, WTF do you want that for?LOL.

I bought a nVidia 7200GS for $10 on Tigerdirect. While not a powerful card, all I needed it for was dual monitor support, which it handles beautifully. As long as you're not playing games on it...

or on the ATI end.... a 3650, 4350, 4830, 3670, 3450, or 4670 are all good cards that are $100 or less

Just don't forget the power requirement I mentioned on your other thread. Many of the current generation graphics cards require a dedicated PCI-E power connection, so if you choose to go that route you need to make sure your PSU offers the capacity to do so (I've heard that emachines can be pretty notorious for having very small power supplies)...

Of course there is nothing stopping you from upgrading your PSU when you add the new video card, but it will impact your budget somewhat (you can find some relatively inexpensive PSU's, but you'll want to stick with reputable manufacturers like Corsair, Antec, etc). Newegg currently has a 400W Corsair for about $35 (after $15 MIR).

Highligh and press open
Press Ok
Radeon 7000 Series should be showing
Highlight and press Next
Windows has successfully updated your driver software...
Close
Reboot
Now just go to Display and configure the settings

Hi,

I know this is a very old thread, but wanted to mention that I just tried the Win7 32 bit driver (posted by TekWiz2010 above) on a really old machine I had given to my son, and it worked perfectly w the generic Radeon 7000 card, and can now support 2/dual monitors.

We had almost given up on being able to do that, until I found TekWiz's post, and I actually just registered here to say thanks, but maybe this'll help someone....
