During the development of an OS, Microsoft gives each version a build number. For example, with Windows 7 there were numerous builds, many of which were leaked. The official releases were 7000 (Beta), 7100 (RC) and 7600 (RTM). Of these, both the Beta and RC have now expired (as have all interim builds). The only build supported now is the RTM version (7600).

RTM and 7600 are the same build version and are frequently used interchangeably. When someone mentions that they are using the RTM version, they are using build 7600 (and vice-versa).

And the version available through file shareing is probable hacked and full of security breches.

Those I would not trust at all.

Get you copy from legit sources or risk all kinds of problems.

If you look, you will probably find that all, or very nearly all, of the OSes, programs, applications and games for all platforms (PC, MAC, Games Consoles) is available through this method.

I agree wholeheartedly with joel406 in that you cannot be sure exactly what you are getting if you go down those routes, and I too wouldn't trust them. Only software from trusted sources entitles you to support if things go wrong.

good to hear. I have seen computers that were fixed in small computer shops with bad keys loaded on them. Also, recently on this forum, a user purchased a computer from a small computer shop and the key was bad so its always good to check. I know most all of them are reliable and do business properly, but some dont. So I cant trust them that much.
