I found that folder in my Windows directory, with only 1 file in it, outlaws.dll. The file is 6kb and when I open it with Resource Hacker it comes up blank.
It looks incredibly suspicious, does anyone know what it does?

Odd. MBAM scans Outlaws.dll as clean. But it did find some other files in my temp folder, which upon opening in Notepad had a list of saved Live Messenger IDs and passwords in plain text >.<

This may come from a game trainer. Outlaws is a hacking group. If your anti-virus tells you something like "Trojan Spy" on a game trainer it just means that the trainer has built-in "keylogger" functionality (necessary to use hotkeys, when a game runs in fullscreen). I don't think, it's dangerous.

I've the same file from a Metro 2033 game trainer.

PS: Look here: Outlaws.dll - Jottis Malwarescanner

Most of them say its "generic" or "game hack".

Regardless of what the Outlaw file is, I'd be doing an immediate clean reinstall of my system if I found a file of my plaintext usernames and passwords on my computer.

What?? :sarc:
Reinstalling the system is the very last thing one should do. You'll not understand what caused the problem (where you made a mistake) and next time you wonder yourself why you get the same problem again. Most users don't change their surfing behavior and so commit the same stupid things again.

Moreover, many programs save sensitive data in the registry, temporary folder or in their own directory without any encryption. Reinstalling the OS just because of this is... sorry, stupid.

Slow down folks. IMHO anything on a computer that reveals privet/secured information has got to go. I don't care whether you are gaming or tap dancing in the parking lot. If it was my computer I would run a complete update virus scan with your anti virus. Then I would install and update and run Malware Anti Malware as seavixen32has posted. Get back to us what was found, and/or deleted.
Their is no such thing as a safe Trogan Spyware.
Another great program to run free is Super Anti Spyware. Run in normal mode and safe mode. Get back to us on results. We have more help if needed.
What anti virus program do you have active?

You guys are a bit late, I reinstalled Windows a few weeks ago (unrelated to any virus problem, just to upgrade to 64 bit) so I'm gonna mark this solved
