Solved What is the best accessory to put on a Semi-Gaming PC?

Hello,

I just have a pc that I game on and the specs are listed underneath my profile pic.

I know the gpu is old but it is all I really need at the moment for my games. I basically do not want to upgrade hardware but want to put something inside of it that makes it look more like a gaming pc, or gives it a unique look.

I was thinking maybe a glass side panel? However I do not know where I can find one.. Maybe LED lights? Though, I'm not too savvy with that stuff.

You have a unique look already with that con-jumbled mess of wiring and harness.
In my opinion the first thing need is to straighten that mass/mess of wiring up.
It's called cable management.

Adding lights without a side window really doesn't do much. You can't see the lights.



I have no idea what looking like a gaming PC means.

Forget the looks. Make sure it gives you optimal performance. An SSD may come in handy.

My system can breathe fine and yes I guess I should neaten the wires a bit, I thought it wasn't an issue really.

If your computer can breathe just fine then don't buy a new case

Yes there are people who modifies cases but you won't worry about the price because most of them make a reasonable price.

What I see is cables/harness blocking air flow and no case fans. Their is probable a case fan in the front somewhere.

To me one starts with basics.
Case air flow and cable management is basic. Then you buy some chrome and make it look fast.

Yep you don't even have a rear case fan as an exhaust :/

Case fans are mandatory
1 or 2 dedicated intake fans
1 or 2 dedicated Exhaust fans

Ultimately you would also have a better or as best as you budget can allow cpu cooler

Then all you would need is 1 or 2 good Intake case fans

If you're concerned about the aesthetics of the case then I would personally go out and buy a new one with integrated cable management. That way you can hide all your cables away nicely, a glass panel would then complement the cable management nicely if you're concerned with how it looks, and if a case has been designed with cable management in mind, you can be fairly sure that the airflow through it will have had some thought as well!

But, as said before, as long as you've got fans and neat cabling in it (minimal cost for a fan), then you can spend the extra money "pimping out" the spec of your PC. If you don't want the hassle of installing an SSD (though it is worth it...), grab a Blu-ray drive or something instead!

Okay so I have tied all of the cables to the best of my ability with the space I've had and I have come to the conclusion that I still cannot get a side case, and now that I think about it, a new case would not be a good idea simply because I do not have the skill level to be able to reinstall everything into another case.

I have included a picture of what I've done. All I can really do to keep it maximum cool is to add a small, back fan under the psu. I do not want to take a risk of messing with the cpu because i did on an old pc I had and screwed it up pretty badly.

I also removed the front end of the pc if that helps.

As far as I'm aware I'm afraid that's all I can do for myself, I'll also download speccy to monitor my temps as well.

Hi,
Still can not tell if there is a fan on the front of the case that pulls air in ?
That would be another minimum addition along with the back fan to pull hot air out
Case looks too thin for the coolermaster 212 evo the case needs to be close too 6" wide.

Otherwise the only cpu cooler upgrade would be liquid which is great by the way they are plug and play
But yes the cpu socket does have to be posted to confirm if it's compatible with your board.

No I sadly do not have a fan in the front and I have no idea how I can even fit one in there

I do not know my socket but I do have specs of my pc on a screenshot below

Says lga 1150 so the liquid cpu cooler would work if you ever want to upgrade the cooler and keep the existing case.

Now that you took the front face off it looks to me the fan would mount on the outside of the case :/

You can`t leave the wires ziptied like that, you can`t put the side panel back on.

I would put an LED intake and exhaust fan in there, then put it back together.

Then hide it under your desk

Start saving for a new case.
