Other than it's somewhat easier and does things for you that was'nt possible with an XP stock Install. It also looks good, an Illusion that makes you feel good and futuristic pretty much. XP is like a cute girl but Windows 7 is the Hot girl youll cheat on the cute girl with. Stop being so shallow Chirag. Xp is good if you have money to burn this is what Microsoft would want u to spend it on. Its pretty much appearance and a few new tricks.

The difference is comparable to someone running windows 95 asking what is the difference to windows xp.

they are like night and day and as someone said, too many things to list here.

I can tell you that "sleep" and "hibernation" work properly, as compared with XP and Vista. Win 7 works so well, that I have it installed on a Acer Netbook and it is awesome--it even provides the Aero interface, that the Microsoft Upgrade Advisor claimed would not work on that hardware. With just 1GB of memory, the Acer runs 7 smoothly.

Win 7 is HIGHLY recommended by myself and most computer users as Microsoft's clearly best effort to date.

I don't think the OP would be satisfied if he installs Win 7 with only 512 memory.

I'm sure there's tons of improvements for the "power user", but for the average Joe who plays Jewel Quest and uses Quicken, you'll probably be ok sticking with XP for awhile longer.

The only reason I left windows 98se, and upgraded to XP was because more and more software wasn't compatible with 98se.

So, I'll probably stick with XP until I start noticing a lot of software requiring Win7. As of today, I haven't run into that problem. :geek:

I would stick with XP until hardware is upgraded to what Windows demands and likes. IMHO chirag24 specs are not what it takes to get the job done with W7.

That is a difficult question. XP is a good operating system and stable. I liked it. 7 has more bling and is stable. In the future more software will be optimized for 7. All I can say is. I like 7 better then XP but I can't really say why.
You will need more memory to run 7 though :)

Some of the newer hardware also requires Vista or Win 7.

Especially not if the OP is going to ask extremely vague questions without putting any effort into learning the difference themselves.
