I am using a friends notebook and it has this McAfee shield and a program that seemingly does nothing at all. I can't seem to deactivate it or uninstall it. I was already able to uninstall the McAfeee security suite but this final program seems more tricky.
1.) what is it?
2.) is it useless by itself? (I removed the other McAfeee software)
3.) how do uninstall it?
Thanks
Some info about it:

The McAfee uninstalled did not work because the software is McAfee Enterprise level.
The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 7.2 did seem to remove the program from the list but when I boot my notebook the McAfee icon is still showing and the software appears to be running.
It's folders are also still here, but I cant see the program anymore in the add/remove

If that does not work or leaves remains, uninstall manually. Remove all registry entries, delete all files and folders and remove startup entries in msconfig.

You'll need to kill all the processes and services associated with mcafee before trying to delete the folders. Also try taking ownership of the files and folders.
You can try deleting in safe mode, or from the command prompt in windows recovery menu.
It is because drivers still triggers in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers...remove them by highlight the files .sys (they should name it McAfee), Then in registry locate the entry from the drivers name in (see attached thumbnail for the path). Don't mess around! Don't forget to remember the name of the .sys deleted!
