What security setup do you have?

My Advice: Remove Spybot. ;)
Ok. After removing spybot, do i need another alternative to replace spybot? :p
Probably not.
FWIW - Have you UAC on?
Have you a router firewall?
I have UAC disabled and don't have a router firewall. :( Where can i get a router firewall?
But i'm using a normal adsl cable modem. My internet is connected through home network (local area connection) . Not using wireless.

My Advice: Remove Spybot. ;)

It's not a good idea to run TWO AV scanners side by side. Avast or MSE? One must choose only one or the other but not both. As for Spyware scanners they are exempt from this. I second replacing Spybot as it's detection rates aren't what they used to be. The same with Adware. The two best right now (in terms of spyware) are SuperAntiSpyware & Malwarebytes.

I only have one AV running in the background which is MSE. Malwarebytes is used to remove malware. I still haven't dump spybot though. lol ;)

I just run Norton 2010 Security Suite for the active scanner.

And once a week I run Malwarebytes but its never found anything ... other than 1 false positive.

So either it isnt working properly at all, or Norton is doing a really good job. One or the other.

I am with BitDefender Total Security 2010, UAC is on. No problems at all, it doesn't slow my computer and although costly I have complete piece of mind. Before I was using Windows Live One Care as having Vista at the time. Since it's not supported in Windows 7 I decided on BitDefender.
BTW strongly recommend this product, it's considered to be the best on the market. :)

I am just a bit concerned when it comes to "free" products especially antivirus software. There is a reason why one thing is free and other is paid for, but this is a personal choice.

Some are free for personal use because they either lack a few extra features plus it's great advertising for companies considering purchasing the 'full' versions.

Word of mouth goes a long way.

As for MSE, MS have a reputation to uphold/improve. Good rep = $$$ from Large scale companies.

Having a viable and free A/V that competes with top end 3rd party products, adds to the pros/cons when companies contemplate purchasing / upgrading MS products.

Personally I use Microsoft Security Essentials - it has everything I need and is really simple to install. Best of all it's free and from MS. So you know there is reputation on the line.

If you want to see a screen by screen feature set of Security Essentials try: Screen-by-screen Exploration of Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows 7

The installation step by step info can be found here: Installing Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows 7

I was wondering... What kind of security setup does people here use?

I, myself, only have Avira free installed, since my usual firewall of choice - online armor - isn't yet compatible with win 7.
