Hi all,

I am making a custom, older pc to use as a windows 7 machine.

Specs:

CPU: i7 870 2.93 GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte p55a-ud4p
PSU: Corsair cx 600m (600 watts)
4gb ddr3 1600mhz ram (working on adding more)
120gb Sandisk SSD plus
an old 160gb HDD

1st GPU: Evga GTX 660
2nd GPU: GTX 1070 Founders Edition

I still have to get my case.

Is sli possible with these 2 GPUs? I will include pics of them if you want.

If I can use sli, what bridge connector do you recommend I use?

Thank you

I will upgrade my 660 soon to a 1070 as well, but for now I can't.

Wow, even the price for a 1070 Ti is ridiculous.

I hope the new series of nvidia cards will bring the prices back down to normal, this is insane.

I read an article talking about putting some type of lock on the cards so miners can`t use them, and another card just for miners so that gpu manufacturers could profit from them. Always trying to make an extra buck

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm just going to keep my 1070 for now. my extra 4gb of ram came in as well as I got myself a 1tb hard drive (since i only play a few games).

Hi all, It is with sad news that my pc is no longer able to boot and I'd like to see if I can have advice to see if I can fix it.

For starters, I turn on the pc and it turns off within 2 seconds, and reboots in a loop. I have tried so many steps with progress, but still cannot succeed.

Steps I've tried:

clear cmos
remove ram
remove cpu and put another one in
test psu

my psu turned on by itself with the paper clip method so that should be fine.

What else I've done was put my paper clip in the psu while plugged in the pc and the whole pc powered up but the mobo lights were flashing like the flow was not solid. so i held down the power button and the flow went smooth. I heard my hard drive power up as well. Is there a chance this can be fixed after all?

Also I seen a vid on youtube where shortening the M_BIOS so the backup will be used can fix it but did not for me. I ended up taking the plate of the M_BIOS off, so now only the B_BIOS is intact.

Sadly I don't have access to ram or a cpu fan for this machine at the moment..

I have a new pc on the way but if this can be fixed i'd really like that. it all started because I tried putting a cpu liquid cooler in but could not fit it in, and somehow glue got involved...

Hi logo897,

Can you get it to boot from the installation DVD at all?
As far as your data is concerned, do you have a dock that you could put the HDD in [assuming it's not the HDD] and retieve your important data?
Not very helpful I know but just a couple of suggestions.

I hope this helps!

Hello, no problem! Thank you for responding. There's thankfully no important data on there. And no, I can't get it to stay on for more than a second and when it does, i get no display.
