Solved What to do please

I downloaded an attachment from a friend in
Documents/Download folder(left hand side).I downloaded
twice. First I tried to open the att. with the Firefox browser.
I can't. Then I saved the attachment.

Now I go back to the Download folder. I CAN delete the saved att.
THERE'S A FILE IN THE FOLDER with no bytes. I tried to delete
the file, but the file CANNOT be deleted.

Please advise me what to do? Is that a virus? Thanks.

What is the file type and its name? Scan it using MalwareBytes. Link in my sig.

It doesn't have an extension. Therefore, I don't know what type of file. I do have Ms Security Essentials. Can I scan it using this program? Is Malwarebytes better? Thanks for helping me.

Those pieces of software that you meantioned, in essence, checks for different things. I would use both. Then one a week make a scan with both of them

I know the suggestion has already been made. This is to help emphasize the importance of this first step.

I'm sorry but that file is still in my Documents/Download. I am unable to Delete or Change its name or Move it out of the Download folder. I even dl the Eraser program attempting to erase it. I attached the Document Folder here. Please help me. I thank you.

1. We need your System Specs.

Use Speccy - System Information - Free Download
and/or SIW to gather info for filling in the blanks.

Do me a favor and add the word laptop or desktop to the “system manufacturer” block.

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader, Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.

I ran the program. It won't be able to delete. As I mention, the doc. has no bytes ( like a fake. I assume)
