What U Hear

Hello people.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium and I've heard that Microsoft only included What U Hear by default in the Business, Ultimate and Professional versions?

Is this true? I've had to find a work around to get What U Hear to display in the recording devices section (Can't remember how I did it), but when I set it to the default device and attempt to play sounds for recording, nothing happens still.

So is it impossible to go about this in Home Premium version? Am I forced to upgrade to another version when this feature was previously available in older Operating Systems such as Windows XP? Does Microsoft really believe all their customers are pirates or something? Why the hell would they remove such a feature and only have it available in an upgrade from a previous downgrade?

Software such as Audicity and Freecorder (which do record sound like What U Hear) are not really an option for me, I'm using software like Camtasia to broadcast live to UStream and Audacity/Freecorder are invalid sound inputs.

Can someone please verify for me whether the above statement is true (Whether Microsoft did only include it in W7 Pro/Biz/Ulti versions) before I go and make the upgrade.

Is anyone else here capable of using What U Hear as a sound input for recording on Windows 7 Home/Premium operating systems?
If so, could it be my Sound card which does not support it?
I'm using a Creative SB X-Fi sound card.

When I check my Wave Input Devices from SiSoft Sandra, I have "What U Hear (Creative SB X-Fi)" and "Microsoft Sound Mapper".

Lastly, please note: I really don't want to use some silly workaround which requires more effort than it should. I should have something like "What U Hear" available to me.

After some more google searching, I found out that Creativelabs had trouble getting drivers of X-Fi soundcards to work with Windows 7 and I'm unsure of whether they have recent support for it or not. (Their website is awful, can't locate sound drivers for the card I have and can't find any help on the topic of "What U Hear" other than a list of soundcards which work with it for XP and Vista, but no listings for Windows 7)

I'm thinking of purchasing a new soundcard now, any recommendations?
