Mine was a Toshiba with 512kb ram 2 x 5.25inch drives 14inch 8 color monitor running CPM & Dos1, boot disk created ram drive to run OP system, Lotus 123 on a 360kb floppy requiring 128kb of ram to run and enough room left on the same floppy to save several 123 files.
Dos was modified to format a 360k floppy to 640k allowing Open Access database to run off 1 disk. and the seecond drive used for saving files.
You could stand on the case without denting it.

Waiting to buy a new computer when 7 is offically out!
hmm...it was an awesome thing called Ambra...and it had DOS 4 and well, Windows 3.1 on it...I thought it was some kind of magic back then...finally it had DOS 6 and Windows 3.11 for Workgroups and then came Windows 95 and I had to rebulit it in order to run Windows 95...wich I did but then I get my first hung-up on Microsoft and to put a long story short...I didn't like some features in Windows 95 so I installed OS/2 Warp on the computer (dual-boot) and since that early days Microsoft has not been alone on any of my computers...OS/2 was...well, I loved it back then but it sort of disappear and I started using Linux...back in those days it was complicated to install and use...Mandrake 5 I think was the first...hmm...those were the days...the only thing that really saved old Windows 3.1 was this thing called PC Tools...It changed that boring desktop to something usefull...and when Windows 95 came it was the end of PC Tools Desktop...All one could do was installing Norton Navigator but it was not the same...Workplace Shell in OS/2 was something diffrent...God, I loved that desktop...still have thoose old disks somewere...anyway, regardless op my all time favorite program is - of course - Norton Commander...and I mean the DOS-version, not the flashy Windows version you could install into Win 95...that sucks big time...today Total Commander (former Windows Commander) reminds of old NC but hey, IT'S NOT THE SAME....no way

Mine was a cyrix 120 mhz in a TXPRO mobo. It had 32 MB RAM, 2.5 gb hd and a S3 vision 864 card (later paired with a voodoo card). Had a lot of fun with that machine. Later (when I could buy parts by myself) upgraded to a K6/2 450 mhz 320 mb ram, two 8.4 gb hd´s and a S3 SAVAGE 4 8mb.
Next comes a P3 450, 768 mb RAM and a 6200 agp 256 mb (lots of great games ran in that machine)
Then I upgraded to a Sempron LE1100 (1.8 but easy OC to 2.5) 2gb ram and a 8600GT
And then comes my current comp

I'm not sure what it was, but it was my parents and one of the slowest computers I had ever used. We also had dial-up back then which made it ten times worse, and whenever I tried to play a game, it froze.

I graduated HS in 80 and as I recall a few of my friends had Apples or Commodores.

My first computer didn't come along until 90 or later. It was a Packard Bell I picked up at Monkey Ward's that run dosshell, and I completed my warrant officer applicatiopn packet on it--and played games such as Sims and Chess. Really I had trouble figuring out much else to do with it. haha.

My dad was into electronics, so the first real computers that I used were Commodore Vic20's and 64's. Later, he purchased an 8086 that I spent a fair amount of time using.

When I was in college in 1994, I purchased my own computer. It was a Packard Bell 486-SX25, 4MB of RAM, 170MB hard drive, with a 2x cdrom drive. If I remember correctly, I paid about $1500 for that computer at ABC Warehouse. I remember upgrading that computer to 20MB of RAM, by purchasing a 16MB RAM chip when they dropped below $200 (I paid $199). Also, I remember installing a 730MB western digital hard drive that I got at Sam's Club for the low low price of just $358
