What Windows has Done Right.

I’ll be comparing to a Mac the things that, I believe, Windows has done right, because Mac is well-known and very respected in the OS field. This doesn’t mean that I think Mac’s are useless or rough to use, but Windows 7 has done some things right and I’d like to point them out. (Warning: The following is opinionated)

I have a Mac, I barely use it, but I know it extensively nonetheless. I am familiar with Mac software and Mac preferences and file and folders and widgets and gadgets and the finder and on and on… My point in this is, while Windows can learn a few things from Mac, like presentation, style, ect…, Mac could learn a few things from Windows and in no particular order, here they are:

Don't worry that article showed just about all the important differences between Windows and OSX.

Maybe for the home user but for corporate/enterprise level, Mac is known as a complete disaster compared to Windows.

I've used both osx and win 7 extensively doing graphic design and video editing. I can honestly say I'm faster and more productive in osx. It's the little differences that give it the edge in my opinion.. like keyboard shortcuts, window management, browsing the file system and gadgets vs widgets. Over all, I like win7 better though... Just seem to create better designs using windows. Not to mention I find win7 to be more visually pleasing and win7 doesn't crash as often

Good article. It's nice to see a comparison of the two platforms without a lot of sniping from both sides.

My only experience with a Mac was when my Windows laptop was on the fritz while visiting the family and my sister in law lent me her Mac for the day. Tbh, I found it difficult to use, and not especially user friendly. Granted, I've used pretty much nothing but Windows in my computing efforts, so I guess a little more time with the Mac may have made it a little easier for me to use it.

But I still couldn't get over the fact that I could have bought four decent Windows laptops for what she paid for that Macbook. Yikes.

Apple hardware is ridiculous. For literally half the price of a G5; I've built a pc that's twice as fast and I can even run osx on it.
