What's best for gaming? Windows 7 or Windows XP?

Hey there, I was just wondering, as I have been back and forth between Windows XP and windows 7 for a long period of time now, and have recently become interested in PC gaming, what is the best OS for gaming, between Windows XP and Windows 7? I just want to know for sure. Also, I would also like to know if there are any tweaks I can input to make gaming much more fluent and smoother (apart from ugrading my hardware)

So please state what OS? Why? and if there are any tweaks that you know of that can improve gaming on that OS, or just include a site link that has all the information about tweaks.

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
For now WinXP is your best bet. In the near future Win7 x64.

Game tweaking is fairly specific for the particular game you are playing at the time...for the most part.
Depend on you game: TweakGuides.com

There are some other general tweaks you can do, once again depending on your specific hardware (nVidia Video, etc)
