MY SYSTEM: I use Windows 7 in a Dell Inspiron 660 computer with 4 GB of memory and an Intel i3 3.40 GHz CPU. (More details at Windows 7 Help Forums - View Profile: zarfs)
I have two hard drives.
The first hard drive contains the C: and E: volumes. The C: volume contains the Windows operating system. The E: volume contains my data files.
The second hard drive is G: and contains more data files.
THE PROBLEM: While in Windows, my hard drive indicator light flashes constantly and rhythmically, and I can hear one of the drives constantly reading or writing.
WHAT I'VE TRIED: I turned off Windows Indexing Service and disabled scheduled scans by Norton Internet Security, but that apparently had no effect.
I started Windows Resources Manager and have attached here some screen shots from it. I have also attached a list of what Windows Services are activated.
What's causing this annoyance, and what can I do to eliminate it?
