Hi folks.. while running a complete scan on my BD, I noticed directory location - "c:\windows\winsxs\temp\pendingrenames\" there seem to be tonnes of files in there. I was wondering what the directory/files are & is it safe to delete them, CC Cleaner didn't pick them ever from what I can remember.

I also have c:\windows\winsxs\temp\pendingrenames but mine is empty.
My advice is not to do any thing under \Windows folder.

Try to run sfc /scannow

They are part of the update process. Usually that folder is empty. Have you run cleanmgr to see if there are any old updates that need removing?

oh ok, thanks mate - at least know I know what they could be.

Never knew I had to run Disk Cleanup to check for old dumps, I thought it was an option to wipe the Drive, so never opened it prior to today either. Just opened the Disk CleanUp for C Drive, its loading for a while now.. searching.. searching.. will post the results once I have it. D, E & F drives have 0 files to clear though.

findings:
Temp. Internet files - 54.1mb
Temp. files - 94.3 mb
Thumbnails - 28 mb
Per User achieved windows error reports - 11 mb
Per user queued windows error reports - 842 mb
System achieved windows error reports - 331 kb
System queued windows error reports - 51.2 kb

then there's "Cleanup system files" - I didn't open it

Is it safe to delete all the ones from the earlier finds ? By default only the following options were selected to delete - Downloaded Program Files, Temp. Internet files, Thumbnails.
