Macrium Free v5.3 images every 10 days, just in case. Better safe than sorry, and whenever I've needed it, it works.

I use the latest version but almost every day.
Better safe than sorry.:D

For Windows 7:

I use Aomei OneKey, to make a restore partition, Then:
I use windows native imaging program, and make a Win7 rescue disk, then:
I make an image and rescue disk with Macrium 6.3.

All backed up on two, different 3TB external hard drives.

For Win8.1, and WinX:

Aomei OneKey, then:
I make the backup you originally make, on USB flashdrive, then:
Macrium Reflect.

For Windows XP:

Macrium Reflect.

This is for mine, and my wife's computers.

For my customers, I use the native disk imaging utilities, and save their image to one of my external drives, in case they need it. I also build them a restore partition.

For my XP customers (all two of them :)), I use Macrium, and a restore partition.
