I do not drink alcohol (don't like the smell and taste of it and what it does to people) but, after the day I had today, I was about to take it up! Among other fun things in the past 24 hours (including a computer problem that was a simple fix but took me over four hours to figure out), I had to replace the shower diverter spout in my bathtub. What should have been a lousy 15 minute job, tops, turned into a three and a half hour nightmare that would have made Murphy proud thanks to the morons who designed and built my home (this isn't the first time I've wished to have five minutes in a closed room with them and something heavy in my hand).

Instead of just unscrewing the old spout and screwing on the new one, I had to figure out a Rube Goldberg combination of a 3/4" coupling, a 3/4" to 1/2" reducing bushing, and a 1" plastic nipple along with an obscene amount of Teflon tape to get the right oddball length I needed without any leaks. I ruined one spout when the plastic nipple I used the first time broke off even though I was only hand tightening it (and I have arthritis in my hands); that was when I stopped talking ladylike. I tried for half an hour to get the broken piece of nipple out. Even an internal pipe wrench couldn't get the stupid thing out; it just chewed it down to the threads, doing a number on the threads. After a trip to Home Depot to get another spout and to try another combination with a hopefully stronger plastic nipple (I had to have plastic between the brass plated zinc of the spout and galvanized plumbing in my house to prevent electrolytic corrosion), I tried to put everything together only to find the coupling had a buggered thread on one end. After increasing the shade of blue in the bathroom air some more, I had to make yet another trip to Home Depot to swap out the stupid coupling. After that, I finally got the bloody spout on, it fits right, works right, and doesn't leak. I've still got smoke coming out my ears and have a pounding headache.

Jeannie, Vodka, a good one, is odorless and tasteless. In moderate amounts it will relieve tension, but mix it with something like orange juice.

I can relate to the plumbing job. Once many years ago I decided to swap out a kitchen sink, it took SEVEN trips to Menards! After some years experience I can now change a toilet with only a Leatherman tool.

Fortunately, I don't keep alcohol in the house (leastwise, not the potable kind) so the headache I have this morning is from my sinuses, not a hangover (I binged on chocolate last night). I'm in recovery mode today and I'm not doing ANYTHING other than reading, listening to soothing music (have some Vivaldi playing right now but may switch to Enya or Kitaro later), and watching TV (some hot chocolate sounds good right now).

I get migraines very infrequently, thank God! I used to get one, occasionally two, a year but it's been a few years since my last one, about the same amount time I've been retired. I never could find out what my triggers were since they happened so infrequently.

Dictionaries are considering removing my picture from the PMS entry since I've been on a steady dose of Premarin for that past several years; that has stabilized any hormonal changes for me.

If chocolate affected me adversely in any way (other than being fattening), I would kill myself. As long as it doesn't contain any sugar (or very, very little), I can eat any amount of chocolate I want. Fortunately for my weight, unless I'm majorly stressed like I was yesterday, it takes very little chocolate to satisfy the craving. Even then, you do not EVER want to become between me an chocolate! It wouldn't be very pretty.

Caffeine is the problem drug for me. I very easily get addicted to caffeine so I can't have any other than the trace amounts that shows up in some foods (such as chocolate). The sad part is caffeine will not keep me awake, make me alert, give me a buzz or the jitters, nada. It will give me heartburn if I have too much in a short period, not to mention the diuretic effect. Once addicted, if I don't get some the next morning (caffeine; get your minds out of the gutter), I will get one whammer of a headache that's actually worse than the headache of a migraine (it's the nausea that comes with a migraine that's really murder, especially for me; it's possible to get a migraine without the actual headache). Fortunately, once the withdrawal period is over (two to four days for me during which suicide looks reeeally attractive), the body will fairly quickly lose the dependence upon caffeine (unlike other drugs).

im ashamed to say ive drank one of the 3L ones in a night(over a good few hours). Put me off it for a good while, To make it even nice, you can add FRESH orange juice. It makes it even better
