as you probably know i have a netbook with no internal dvd drive, so I'm planning on getting a couple things for it with some staples/best buy giftcards that I will be getting for Christmas.
Kensington SlimBlade Trackball Bluetooth Laser Mouse

this was picked because it's one of the cheapest bluetooth mice available, and the shape i think will make it easier to stash into a pocket or something.

Asus Dual Interface 8x External Slim DVD+/-RW Drive, Black

cheapest external dvd player/burner drive i can find

what's your take?

The asus external optical drive rocks (don't have just seen with friends)

The mouse looks uncomfortable, i use a logitech vx nano and i'm in love with it, it's cheap, accurate, the usb receiver is so tiny you can just leave it plugged all the time, and the battery ... well... been using it A LOT for 4 months and haven't changed stock AAA batteries lol

good to heard about the drive thanks.
i like the mouse because it doesn't use a usb port, and the scroll ball switches to a trackball with a button.

Well, I want and they did not have the Kingston in stock anywhere. but Apple's Magic Mouse was only $10 more and met my criteria of not requiring a dongle and not be bulky so i bought that.

after installing extracted drivers and intellipoint it works great with right-click and scrolling working. gestures doesn't work, but who cares?

also, I have a bunch of best Buy gift cards, so I might be getting my dvd drive from there.
I'm looking at either a Retail Plus Slim drive

what's your take on these?

I picked up a Sony Slimdrive DVD/CD similiar on Ebay for $41 US. I have an Acer Aspire One Netbook AOD250 and to hookup an external USB drive you need an external power source because the USB plug on my netbook doesn't get powered up immediately on bootup.
After I hooked it up I immediately made an image of the drive for safety sake.

Oh, ok.
I think it may be the same for my computer I'm not sure.
I'll only need to boot from it once when I get my upgrade kit, but otherwise just for movies and software.
