Passmark has baseline score at stock speed for many CPUs and mine fell below them although it is OC'd 30%.

Gary this is a stupid question, but it certainly could explain the low score.. You turned Hyperthreading off for your 4948GHz Overclock, did you turn it back on after?

If it is turned off then that would explain everything. With hyperthreading ON then it should score in the region of 12000-13000.

Yes it was on...I think.

So it definitely says 4 cores 8 threads in cpuz.

This is the first time I have ever seen a cpu score below what it should in passmark and I have been using it for many years.

Yeah, I checked just before re-running the benchmark. A replacement will be here tomorrow. Later today I'll set the CPU at default and see what happens. At least my RAM gave a good showing. The GPU is a 5 year old thing, ATI 4670.

Yes it will be interesting to see what it scores Stock, as you know it should score around 9500. I just wander if a setting for something might be wrong in your bios. I know you have a new one coming, but just for curiosity I would default the bios and see how it scores.

A sad story.
I set the BCLK, CPU multiplier, and CPU volts all to Auto, then the damn thing would not boot or show any video with the GPU or on chip graphics. I even tried another GPU slot. Reset CMOS, no help there.
Finally I re-flashed BIOS, thank God for BIOS flashback, then it would boot. I only set the RAM to 2400, tiimings on manual but the RAM will only run at 1920 with that setting. Maybe this board took a dump now.
Anyway, here's the result, the CPU maxxed out all categories.

Don't get him thinking the board is bad Kelly! I think he has RMA'd more stuff in the last few weeks than me and you have in our lives put together!

I think I have bought a considerable amount of hardware over the last few years, I have only had to RMA 2 things, a GPU that was DOA and 8GB of my current Ram (one stick decided to die).

Either he is getting bad hardware or he has a short circuit in his brain :roflmao: (Sorry Gary just having a joke lol)

I have the 2003 BIOS version.
Just changing some settings back to default shouldn't have kept the board from booting. The GPU LED stayed on even in other slots, ot removing it and trying the Intel graphics. IT don't add up.

Maybe it is me and nothing is wrong. with these high end high dollar parts they should perform perfectly.

Yes they should Gary, I agree 100%. Paying top dollar for a high end part shouldn't come with having to work around bugs and problems.

If you changed it back to default, did you make sure that is was booting from the correct drive etc?
