My Win7 PC runs my HA system and I use non-admin users to allow remote access. I deleted a user and wanted add a new user but the new user(s) suddenly get the message that the logon fails. This had been fine prior to this week. Any ideas?

Could you post a screenshot of the error in question?

Note, this happens when I test a new user by attempting to log in at the actual PC.

So far my admin account has not been affected. it only appears to be any new user I try to set up.

Here is a link to an image of what I see: (this was posted by someone else who no doubt wants and deserves credit but I don't see anyone to credit for it)

So as you can see I searched on this topic and found a few responses but none of their posted fixes took care of my issue

Thanks in advance for trying to help...

BTW - when I say others' posted fixes don't work this is due to there not being a .bak of the user profile to revert to - because this is for a *new* user

Hmm... this looks like it could be a result of a corrupted user profile. I'm not exactly sure what to do from there, and why this is happening to all new user profiles you create is beyond me, but hopefully someone comes with the answer you need. :-)

I found this-

How To Fix The User Profile Service Failed The Logon Error

which might help. I would assume that one would apply the changes to the failed user account. In addition, I would save the registry or create a system restore point before making any of the changes. They don't mention that.
