Where are boot files stored?

I installed Paragon Total Defrag and hated it, so I uninstalled it. However, even after uninstalling it, a change the program makes by adding a boot screen has not gone away. Anyone who has used this program might know what Im talking about as far as what this screen is.

So Ive searched my computer/registry for anything containing "paragon" and deleted it. Where should I look next? Is there a place I can view any sort of boot files or soemthing that shows the boot activity and can be possibly edited?

A quick explanation of this boot screen: The Paragon defrag program requires the defrag to be done before the OS loads. So, it adds this screen to the boot process where you have to select an OS to defrag. Now, I have to select my Win 7 partition to complete my boot process, as the screen doesnt an advance unless you select something. I hit Enter, it tries to look for the Paragon program, which no longer exists, then it loads Windows 7.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

You may want to boot up from the 7 dvd itself and go into the repair my computer section seen right under the install now button for the command prompt option. Once the 7 installation is detected and you arrive at the command prompt type in: "bootsect /nt60 C:" followed by the "bootrec /fixmbr" commands used (without quotes) in order to see the mbr entries and boot sector information rewritten.

Use System Restore to restore before you installed it.

A respectable program should set a restore point before install.

If it did? or you have any prior points onhand that would be a help. I had that problem with one program back with the RCs where the system restore wasn't the soluttion there however.
