Solved Where are my files?

I am loving my Samsung slate, but still basically a Mac person and puzzled about how Windows organizes files.

When I save new brushes in Photoshop, they get hidden away in a mysterious place. Using the Search tool, I find them listed in:
C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Presets\Brushes.
However, if I try to access that location directly by drilling down through the directory structure, I find that no such location actually exists; inside C:\Users\MyUserName\ there is no AppData directory.

I guess some kind of aliasing system is being employed.

Surely there must be some way of getting directly to my files without having to do a search every time? Can anybody explain what is going on? What is the purpose of this complicated system?

To access that location, you need to enable "Show hidden files, folders, and drives"

Click Organize, Folder and search options, View.

Or just type "AppData" into the address bar when you are in your user directory.
But no its not complicated its just hidden by default. Mac OSX has its own share of hidden directories.

Here's a side note: On my Mac (OS 10.6.8) it is easy, by default, to drill down to where my brushes are saved:
MacBook Pro/MyUserName/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS3/Presets/Brushes.
However, the Mac search tool is utterly incapable of finding the file! So, you win some, you lose some.
