where can i buy a pcie x16 2.0 interface for aspire 5315

hi,
I have a acer aspire 5315 and wanted to solder a pcie x16 2.0 or 2.1 bus interface at the bottom,
so that i can attach a nvidia gforce 8600 gs to it or any mobility radeon..
but i am not able to find an online store to buy this interface....

does anyone know where i could buy this...??

I think you will have to be a little more specific? Are you looking for the PCIe edge connector to solder to the motherboard? My Aspire 5920 is missing the Video card upgrade but the connector is there. If yours is missing the connector, its likely missing a few other associated parts, so just soldering on the connector is no guaranty that the add-in video card will work. Also, you can't just plug any old PCIe video card in there. The one that goes in there is custom made for that model Acer laptop. You'll likely have to order the connector from Acer. I hope you have good soldering skills because you'll need them. You'll likely have to hunt around on E-Bay for the Video Card. Acer might have it, but I wouldn't count on it.

I had a hunch the OP might be looking at a MIMI PCI or MINI PCIe slot but it didn't occur to me until after I posted.

Debbydale thats for a WIFI card not a VIDEO card. If you are not good, and I mean good, at soldering small terminals you don't want to attempt this. If you short the wrong two connections together with solder you may be looking for a new laptop.

That's not really something you want to do Debby. First of all there's the heat you'd generate and destroy adjacent parts, the makers have expensive equipment for the soldering and the whole boards are done in one pass. Then there's the good possibility since the connector isn't there, neither is the proper circuitry installed.
One of those slots will have about 40-50 pins to solder as well, all in the space of 2-3 inches.

My Acer Aspire 5920 has built in Intel Mobile Graphics, it also has the connectors to add a better card. Its more of a module than a video card. The add-in card is custom made for Acer for my model laptop. The only place to get it is from Acer or find a second hand one on E-Bay and hope it works. Installation isn't easy either, there are thermal pads to install in the correct places etc. I haven't looked to see if Acer still has any, I looked around the internet first to see what I could find. It was slim picking. I probably would end up buying another 5920 that was offered for parts and hope it has the upgrade video module in it. Thats as far as I went, I don't need the upgrade video module that bad. I play games on my desktop anyway. My wife uses the laptop more than I do, for facebook etc.
