Solved Where do I find out what Windows is doing during 10 minute boot?

Please post back a screenshot of your Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image
so we can see if anything is obvious.

From there establish a Clean Boot and work through the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
to go over it thoroughly.

If these fail to resolve it you can determine what's happening during the boot time with certainty by Gathering a Startup, Shutdown, Sleep, Hibernate, or Reboot Trace - Windows 7 Forums

The problem is that I can go 3 months without a problem. Then suddenly, the G: drive isn't there. Shut down, wiggle the SATA cable, reboot. Problem solved. I have replaced the cable. Didn't seem to help.

Could be the drive. But I have a very regular full backup of it on a spare HDD, so if it fails completely, no problem.

I should actually swap the 2 HDDs, but it is a mission - I have 4 HDDs and 2 optical drives and the inside of the cabinet is a nightmare.
