Where is email in Windows 7?

When I got Vista, one of the few things I liked was the email.
It permanently screwed my Outlook database though, so when I reverted back to XP I had to use Windows Live Mail which is slightly different from that which was bundled with Vista.
Now I have a new laptop and it has Windows 7 on, but no email.
Why do Microsoft put usthrough this?
I#d appreciate any help.

You can download the Windows Live Essentials program pack here:
Essentials - Windows Live
One of the programs in the Essentials is Windows Live Mail. Microsoft doesn't ship Windows 7 with Windows Live Mail because if it did, it could potentially face antitrust lawsuits, especially from the European Union. Microsoft has already faced lawsuits for including Windows Media Player and, this part is outrageous, Internet Explorer.

EDIT: Posted at the same time as derekimo, lol.

Windows Vista came with Windows Mail (no Live).
You can get Windows Mail to work on Windows 7 by copying over the Windows Mail folder from a Vista computer. But you have to know how to change file permissions & ownership and remember that the Windows Mail folder can get overwritten by running sfc or from a reinstall.
