Which applications can I simply copy to other partition?

Hey guys,

I have several applications installed on my C drive and I'm not in a mood to uninstall them and re-install them on my E drive. There are some applications I know (like EA Sports Cricket 07) which on installation in C drive can be moved to other partition by simply copying the folder (C:\Program Files\EA Sports\EA SPORTS(TM) Cricket 07) onto the other partition.

Is there any software through which I can check applications or games which can be directly moved to other partition without the need to uninstall and re-install?

I don't believe there is any software that does not require reinstall to be correctly installed to a new OS.

For example, Steam can be played from its Program Files folder but it is not correctly installed and should eventually be reinstalled to the OS it is intended for.
 
Most of the software when installed, will install files in different locations on the system drive, including Program Files, Windows, System 32, Common Files, ProgramData, AppData etc. They also write to the registry and sometimes config files (ini) about various application settings.

If you move these folders from C: drive to E: drive for conserving space, the application still looks for the non existent files in C: drive and the program may not work correctly. Sometimes the DLL files are registered and it is difficult to move them to new locations.

The best and clean way is to uninstall and install in new locations.

Don't know if there's software to find all the pointers.
If you're comfortable trying it, you can move the program folder to another partition. Change your shortcut to point to the new location. If it doesn't work, just move it back. But there are gotchas if you don't take care.
You may have to move it back to uninstall it, for example.
It's really best to uninstall, then reinstall to a new location.
Steam has a method to move games Steam to a new location, and I used it and it works. Otherwise, I don't move apps with Win 7, and just leave them on the system drive. Too many gotchas, and a hassle if you routinely restore system images, which can put your apps in conflict with the registry and all the app data Win 7 keeps in the User directories.
