My daily use computer is becoming a bit slow and overloaded. [ComputerA]
I have another computer which I used mainly for playing games[ComputerB]
Both are similar AMD builds, but B has a better CPU and Mobo.
Both have different, genuine, Win7 installed and activated
When I build the new machine, is there any advantage as to which Win 7 I use, in terms of activation?
Both copies of Win7 are store-bought....not OEMs
Any thoughts please.
Thanks AG

If both are the full retail version it would make no difference. Retail versions aren't tied to hardware as OEMs are. If it has been about 6 months since your last activation you probably just install and active over the internet noramally.

You say store-bought - that doesn't preclude them being OEM System Builder licenses.
If they came with both 32 and 64-bit disks, they are Retail - if with only one disk, then OEM System Builder.
If they are System Builder, you should use the one associated with the motherboard currently in use in the 'new' machine - it will have been locked to that one at the first activation.

Thanks to NoelDP and Britton30, for replying. Both sets contain both disks, so looks like I can use either without problems.
Guess I'm going to have a spare copy!
Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
