Hi...I have read through some of the other threads relating to back-up but still need to post my own thread...

I need to make a Windows 7 Starter back-up/set-up disc but am not certain which files I need to copy...I don`t want a system image as I have been told that copies the whole hard drive and I only want to make a recovery/set-up disc ...I need to do this as my other computer has lost all the hard drive and this is the only one I have left and can copy from and I feel I need to do this before I get shown a hard lesson in that this ought to have been done long ago...the hard disc on my netbook has 3 partitions...

........................C/
...........PQ Service/
..System Reserved/

is it the System Reserved drive that is copied and if so how do I copy just those please ?

it is an Acer netbook with Windows 7 Starter edition...hope somebody can explain please ?

Thanks,

Stephennity.

You need a CD/DVD drive.
Go to Control Panel,System and Security,Backup and Restore and select "Create a system repair disc".
Did that help you?

You can get to this website to get your recovery media.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

Enter your product key, choose language and follow the instructions.

I haven't tested it,though.

If you ever need it,press F8 during startup and select "Repair Your Computer".
This brings the recovery menu.
